About Me:

Dominic Dorsey II is a student activist, entrepreneur, poet, aspiring author, radio personality and president of every organization he's ever joined since the 7th grade. He began a career in public speaking at the tender age of 13 and has spoken in front of crowds ranging from 50 to 800 people at any given setting. From working on an Anti-Violence Teen Resolution in Washington D.C. to present to congress, to staging a protest against his university for racial discrimination and student funding inequity. Dominic prides himself on the lessons of leadership he's learned across the way. Lessons he hopes to share with students across the country. With Music (hip hop in particular) being his passion, this blog is a place to organize all his thoughts and observations on the topic. Along with stories addressing politics, pop culture, race & ethnicity and religion; it is the hope that in visiting this site, subjective analysis can stimulate conversation to enlighten the masses.

Donna Simpson of New Jersey is looking to go down in history as a women that weighs 1,000 pounds (SMH). She told telegraph.co.uk, “I’d love to be 1,000lb. It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down.” She's got three kids, from 3 to 14. Where's Howard Stern now? (*shoutout to Illseed @AllHipHop.com)

Okay, so for those of you who don't know; in addition to blogging about everything I think is cool, I'm also a bit of a techno-nerd. It's warranted though! I do public speaking and I own my own web and graphic design company (www.dapdesignsunlimited.com) so I need stuff like this...at least that's what I tell myself.

In a world where everything has gone digital, the next evolution in personal camcorders is here. The FlipCam may have all the commercials and the deepest online community, but I'm a fan of the Kodak HD Zi8. So much so that after reading about it I actually returned my UltraHD FlipCam to exchange it for the Kodak brand. Why?

For starters the 1080p is nice, so is the image stabilization. It does everything the flip does but better,...at least in my biased opinion. I needed the camera to do some interview work for my practicum as well as my in class work. Ideally you would use a microphone for that.

The problem with the Flip was that there's no place to plug in a microphone....not with the Kodak. I have a lavaliere microphone that can clip onto a lapel or collar that works great with the Kodak external mic jack. I was sold on that alone. It's sleek and slimmer than the UltraHD flip so it fit better in my camera case with my other new toy...

My Canon PowerShot SX20 IS is beastly. I haven't moved up to the SLR cameras yet, I don't do that much high speed photography or action photos. But for crisp close ups and vanity shots? Few compare to this 12.1 mp camcorder. It has a 20x zoom lens which is an improvement from my other PowerShot (which still has a real nice zoom) and it has a deeper record function and flip out and around view finder (the viewfinder wasn't available on my SX110 10mp). I still have my old camera (just in case the new one malfunctions or the batteries die) but you can tell a BIG difference between the quality of the photos. I'm geeked...but then again I am a geek. *shrugs*
